The River North Tyne from Chollerford to Tyne Green, Hexham is an excellent river on which to develop white water skills appropriate to grades 2 and 3 waters. This section of the river is a favourite of many local paddlers and is the centre stage for the Tyne Tour which is held in the region on the first weekend in November, hosted by Hexham Canoe Club. The Warden Gorge section is the favourite play ground for white water paddlers and offers up some superb white water on which to develop play-boating and white water skills.
