| A small group of paddlers from the club ventured down the wonderful Upper South Tyne on December 1st, 2007. If you've never done it, its well worth the trip. Fantastic scenary and a great paddle.
This river has to be done on the rise. It is more-or-less a continuous Grade III with some Grade II bits. The river flows fast and you are constantly on the look out for eddies and obstructions. There are one or two spots that require care with tree hazards and real care needs to be taken when coming down to Lambley Viaduct. Overall, because of its continuous nature, this river is just as enjoyable as the North Tyne (Warden Gorge).
