Close seasons for fishing in the North East, Cumbria and Scotland
Such information might be useful to know if you don't want to be bothered whilst enjoying your precious paddling time!
North East: Salmon: February 1st to October 31st. Fishing is available from Monday through to Sunday (though some beats now operate a policy of no Sunday fishing
  Sea Trout: April 2nd to October 31st
  Brown Trout: March 22nd to September 30th
  Coarse Fish: June 16th to March 15th

Cumbria: Salmon: November 1st to January 31st except River Eden system October 15th to January 14th
  Trout: October 1st to March 14th
   
Scotland: Close seasons are from September 1st to February 28th. No fishing Sunday's. (Does not apply to England).
